Passion, makes any storytelling so much better. The past week in English for the most we covered Beowulf and practiced how to tell a story and such. I have never been a very good storyteller, because I do not enjoy going in front of everyone in the class and presenting anything. In any class i do not enjoy storytelling because I always get scared that I will say something wrong. I do need to get better at storytelling and the only way to do that is through failure, however I still find it very difficult to do.

Whenever, we did the first two storytellings I was sick so I was a little behind and confused on my reading. For the storytelling I did witness on the last day, I noticed a lot of different things each storyteller did well and also things the storytellers did wrong. For the most part, the storytellers seemed to have a general understanding of the book and attempted to use good details and descriptions in their storytelling. Many of the story tellers could improve on their pace when telling a story and they could try to pronunciate better.

“Kobe Bryant 41 has died and helicopter crash”. I could not believe what my phone was telling me. This can’t be true. The day Kobe Bryant died it felt like the whole world had stopped. Even people who do not watch basketball mourned the loss of Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant was an idol, he was a great person, great basketball player, great father, and great husband. So many young kids and even young adults looked up to him.

Kobe Bryant’s mentality was unmatched, and no one even compared to Kobe’s work ethic. At Kobe Bryant’s memorial, Michael Jordan an ex competitor of Kobe and a mentor to Kobe stated, “Whenever Kobe Bryant died, a piece of me died”. Michael Jordan one of the roughest and toughest people in sports was balling his eyes out on stage in front of 1000’s of people. An ex nba player was once warming up 5 hours before a game to work on his shot and who else does he see on the court before the game, Kobe Bryant. The ex nba player warmed up until he couldn’t any longer and eventually the game started and Kobe won, and after the game the player asked Kobe why were you out on the court warming up so early? Kobe says, “Because I want you to know, no matter how hard you work I will work harder”.

Louisiana State University’s football team last year was epic. Joe Burrow was unlike any other quarterback ever. He was a different breed, and no one will ever live up to LSU’s epic season or Joe Burrow’s legendary season. It’s hard and sad to think about, but we will never see a LSU football team as exciting and good as the team last year. It is honestly sad because as much as I loved that team and as much as I watched it, I lowkey took the team for granted. However, I will be telling my kids ten to 20 years from now about this legendary and epic season that will go down in the record books.

Epic, the only word possible that I could have described LSU with. Well, what do I mean by “epic”? An epic in poetry is traditionally a story passed down through oral tradition about the adventure of a hero. LSU was described as epic in the form of an adjective, but both forms of the word “epic”  apply. Joe Burrow is the hero in the story that has an adventure but at the same he is an epic quarterback. The same could be said for Beowulf as for Joe Burrow. Beowulf was an epic warrior but is also a character in an epic on an epic adventure.

This week a new video game came out, NBA2K21. Every year I buy the same guy over and over again, but the past few years the game has not been very good. There is one specific game mode I enjoy, my career mode. In my career mode you design a player in any way you want. You can choose how they look, how tall they are, how much they weigh, and what type of player they are. The goal is to level up your my player, and you can level them up by either buying virtual currency in the game or playing game after game and grinding.

I am happy because this is the first year I have not felt like I wasted money. This is year is one of the games since 2017. There is one problem, in December there is a new gaming console being sold. Most gamers are going to buy the new console , and if my friends buy the new console then I will not be able to play with them anymore. Also, when buying the new gaming console, all of the progress on your my player. This week I have really enjoyed playing the game and I hope to continue to enjoy it.
